Polymer/lipid hybrid nanocarriers for delivering the selected bioactive molecules
PREPARATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF BIOACTIVE MOLECULES LOADED LIPID/POLYMER-VESICLES (I.E. LIPOSOMES)
UNIBA
Research Unit (RU) led by Prof. Lucia Catucci (UNIBA) has consolidated experience in the design, synthesis and characterization of lipid and polymer based micro/nanostructured colloidal carriers for the reconstitution of proteins, bioconjugation and active delivery of drugs, antioxidants and other bioactive molecules, both of synthetic and natural origin. As well as in the development and characterization of hybrid colloidal carriers, containing fluorescent probes and targeting agents and in the evaluation of the biological impacts of these carriers through in silico and in vitro methods. With respect to the proposal, UNIBA unit dispose of the following instrumentations: UV-Vs, FTIR spectrophotometers, Fluorometers, Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), Trasmission Electron Microscope (TEM), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Confocal Fluorescence Microscope, LC-MS, Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), ultracentrifuge as well as of all the facilities for sample preparation under sterile conditions.
