TO VERIFY THE BIOLOGICAL EFFECTS OF BIOACTIVE NANOCARRIERS ON INFLAMMATION-INDUCED ENDOTHELIAL DYSFUNCTION
The research unit led by Prof. Alberto Zullo (UNISANNIO) hold deep expertise in the analysis of cellular processes involved in human diseases. This research unit is very experienced in the fields of biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology and cellular electrophysiology. The unit’s skills allow the execution of a wide range of assays, ranging from the metabolic to the electrophysiological and fluorescence-based ones on human and animal cells. Moreover, this unit has a long-term practice in the evaluation of the biochemical determinants underpinning the cellular processes. In this project the UNISANNIO RU will setup and perform all the assays needed for the identification of the specific compound-loaded nanocarriers with anti-inflammatory and anti-atherosclerotic activity on the human endothelial cell line EA.hy926. Moreover, this RU will contribute to deciphering the detailed molecular mechanism(s) of the selected bioactive nanocarriers. The UNISANNIO RU laboratories are equipped with modern instrumentation suitable for basic and advanced experiments in the field of genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, physiology, cell biology, electrophysiology, proteomics, microscopy, bioinformatics.
